To calculate yearly average on TE:

>Main

>Reports

>Overall Grades

Set the weight for each of the 4 Qs the same (e.g., 1,1,1,1)

>Calculate

Be aware that TE will calculate overall grades based upon percentages. For A+'s or low F's, you will need to double check, using the 12 point system.  In MOST instances, however, TE will give you what you need.

How to enter a modified grading scale:

1) From your MAIN page, go to SETUP.

2) Select ROSTERS.

3) From the pull-down menu, choose the desired class roster.

4) Click the "grading scale" to the right of the target student.

5) A new window appears, stating that no individual grading scale has been

defined, and that the student is graded on the regular grading scale.

CLICK "Set Grading Scale."

6) Set parameters of the new scale for this student.

Unfortunately, you will need to repeat this for each student for which you modify the grading scale.

I am unaware of how to import a new scale for multiple students.

NOTE: DO NOT ASSUME THAT ALL SPEC. ED. STUDENTS ARE ON A MODIFIED GRADING SCALE.  If you have any questions in that area, check with the student's IEP manager.

How to open a new grading period:

1. From TeacherEase MAIN, go to >Setup (under Gradebook).

2. Under Basic Setup, click >Classes. (You get a new screen listing all of your classes.}

3. Look to the extreme right hand side of the screen, across from one of your classes.

   Click >mark active/close.

4. You will see a new screen, showing all of the grading periods for that class.

From the pull-down menu, select “active” for Q2, then click SAVE.

(You may wish to keep Q1 active for now, at least until after P/T conferences.)

5. REPEAT this process for each of your classes.
